Community Food Co-operative
The Food Co-Operative is part of a Wales
wide scheme which allows the whole community to purchase fresh produce (fruits,
vegetables and salads) at a reduced cost to the public.
In Rhymney the Food Co-Operative meets on a Friday morning where you can collect
your items and pay one week in advance for your produce. If you require specific
or ‘special’ items, these can also be accommodated…
The bags which are packed ready for you to collect are
subsidised to keep these costs low… it’s also important to remember that this
facility is open to the whole community… not just certain sections…
The Food Co-Operative has also started a social morning every Friday, where
beverages and toast are available, again at a reduced cost… this is also open to
the whole community and we would very much like to see you there!
The Food Co-Operative and its services operate from the St. David’s Community
Centre from 9 until 10:30am.
